How do I choose the right MMA cage?

Decide where your cage will be:

It may seem pretty obvious but the first step is choosing the perfect spot for your cage. It will be the key feature in your gym so you have to find the right place and ensure it won't get in the way.

Decide what you want to use it for

Knowing what you're using it for is essential. Your decision will be affected by what you want to use your MMA cage for. Training cages aren't the same as competition ones. So ask yourself the following questions:

Is this the main sport at my gym?

If so, check out the floor mounted models that are fixed to the floor and choose the right diameter for your space (4-8m).

If it isn’t your main sport and your gym is more modular, go for a foldable model that’s both practical and sturdy.

How about hosting competitions?

Yes? If you’re going to host competitions then we highly recommend a cage with a podium. The raised podium makes it ideal for both training and competing. You can choose the podium height too: 10cm/40cm/65cm/100cm (regulated UFC heights).

You can also add a mat like the flexi-roll inside your cage.

How about competitions that are going to be broadcast?

If it's for broadcasted competitions, go for the octagonal "UFC" MMA cage. It has a total rim of 1m. That makes it easier for cameras to get around and the press can get better shots.
